🌸 Now that my toddler is in school four days a week, our Fridays are hopefully going to be filled with more park adventures! Being as it’s still a little warm outside, we looked for a park today with cover; and we found the perfect one! Hill Top park in McKinney has a large canopy covered playground with swings and a covered pavilion sitting very close to the playground for moms and dads to sit at and enjoy an afternoon or morning at the park!
🌿 Perks: The biggest perk of this park is that the entire play structure is covered with a beautiful large canopy. The playground is partially handicap accessible with a few ramps and a sway cruiser structure. There are also a few ladders, a few stair steps and three different climbing walls: two with holes and one with faux rocks. There are also six slides on this playground! Four, open, tall ones and two of which are for younger kiddos that sit side-by-side. There are five sensory boards at different levels that were fun for my little guy! There is also a swing section with four belt-style swings that is also canopy covered! For parents there is a great covered pavilion with three picnic tables and there are also three bench seats for parents to sit on under some trees.
😬 Downsides: Unfortunately there are no restrooms or water fountains at this park. There is also no designated parking lot but there is lots of parking at the school next-door with just a short walk up a hill along a concrete path to the playground. The ground is wood chips and there are no swings for younger children or babies. There is also no designated toddler playground however, half of the playground is lower to the ground.
☀️ This was a pretty simple park that we easily enjoyed for a couple of hours since we brought a picnic lunch and we had a nice breeze. There aren’t a lot of bells and whistles but it was a perfect stop for today!
